Let's take a quick look at these stunning features.
Complete and accurate resolution of complex queries
Ontology-based product search
Conventional search solutions cannot resolve complex search queries because they rely heavily on keywords and cannot interpret individual parts of a query. They often do not understand what the customer really means and what products they want. As a consequence, they return either unwanted or no results.
The semantic Site Search 360 Product Search uses a comprehensive ontology which includes thousands of categories and attributes to fully resolve the incoming search query.
The user is thus shown a set of results whose products have all the required properties and are also specific to them.
With the help of our product classification, customers are only shown products in the appropriate category as well as with the desired features.
Custom dictionary
To help you minimize queries showing no results and increase your product search success, Site Search 360 Product Search for modified lets you enrich your existing product data within its Dictionary interface by easily adding:
- Synonyms, that is words or expressions that have the same or similar meaning in search results,
- Alternate spellings which are specific to your products.
Users may enter different terms to get to the same product. Our semantic search focuses on searcher's intent to recognize that "wild print" equals to "leopard print" or "big cat pattern". It means that best-matching results are shown even though "wild print" is not included in the title or product description.
We've made it easy for you to preview your changes directly from the Control Panel, so you see what information gets included by modifying your synonyms, as shown in the video. We've also enhanced concept synonyms.
Product Search Fuzziness
Depending on your store set-up, you may want to only show a limited number of products for a specific query, or on the contrary, display as many results as possible. This is where product search fuzziness comes into play, i.e. how precise or broad you want your search results to be and to what extent they should match, for example, your item numbers or product categories.
The stricter the search, the more accurate the results. The more broadly the search is set, the more loosely related products will be displayed.
As an example: If you set the blur to "Strict", Site Search 360 for modified eCommerce will display results from the matching category and ignore other title matches in the results.
If you search for "USB drive", only products classified as USB drive will be displayed. You will not see products whose titles contain the search terms but belong to a different category, such as "USB drive adapter".
Now let's take a look at the Result Manager, one of our most powerful features that gives you full control over your search results.
Full control over your results with the Result Manager
Flexible Result mappings
With Site Search 360 Product Search for modified eCommerce, you can create result mappings to define exactly which product should appear in which position. Furthermore, you can apply filters and sorting options to compile the perfect results for your most important search queries.
You can also set up redirects to specific URLs. For instance, if the user searches for "winter sale", you can redirect them automatically to a URL showing products on sale, as shown here.
The Result Manager is also suitable for designing specific landing pages and creating your own results pages, where you can integrate banners, videos, PDFs and other important content directly into your search results' page. Check the video to see how to easily add a custom banner above your search results' page.
We do not just give you the option to improve your search results, we also let you automatically suggest popular queries as soon as your user interacts with the search bar.
Predictive search
To make your search even more powerful and present the most relevant results to your customers, Site Search 360 Product Search includes autocomplete, which displays matching search suggestions as you type.
Better filters for product search
Conventional search often returns unwanted results which are detrimental to the search experience. To bypass this issue and improve the user's experience, Site Search 360 for modified eCommerce lets you easily configure smart filters based on your product data feed.
For instance, if your feed contains structured data (product attributes) such as "Color: blue" and "Material: acrylic", they can be converted into filter options after your product data is uploaded from the modified eCommerce backend.
By default, no filters are generated and displayed to your visitors. In the Site Search 360 control panel, you can, however, select any attributes to use as front-end filters for your search results page. This way, users can narrow down large lists of results based on product attributes to the exact products they are really interested in.
Dynamic ranking strategy
Site Search 360 Product Search for modified eCommerce gives you access to our dynamic Ranking Strategy feature, which allows you to determine in what order your products should be displayed in your search results.
With Site Search 360's flexible ranking strategies, you, as a store owner can adjust the ranking of products to suit your business strategy. Rank products from certain brands higher or display the newest products first. You may also want to display discounted products or products with the highest margin first - there are many possibilities.
